Did anyone else see Australia's naughtiest dog on the Today show this morning, he was so cute I could have had him at the drop of a hat.  His bad things were quite similar to an Irish Wolfhound I knew and loved .... one dog who was in the running for the award ate a whole bag of coffee beans and did not sleep for 3 days ..... rofl

My niece is a volunteer to rescue hurt wildlife. On the weekend she was called out to rescue a Kookaburra on the side of the road. She brought it to my sisters house to show us as the guy that she takes them to was on his way home so she was waiting for him to arrive there.

I have never seen a Kookaburra really close up and been able to pat one before. The thing that is a striking feature about them is their beak, it is a really solid and thick piece of work with a prominent fine point right at the end of it. The bird is a young female, with a broken leg. The leg is now in a splint and the Kooka will be released in about 3 weeks. cheers

A young male about the same age.
