Since the federal government announced their package on domestic violence, there has been no or very little follow up by the media, then again it's only been a short while since the package was released. In Queensland alone, Police receive a domestic violence call once every two minutes.

I think this deserves a lot more media coverage than it is receiving, however people are starting to stand up, especially the victims, but now so are the perpetrators, by trying to encourage other's not to follow in their paths. One man calling for men to take responsibility.

Individuals must do as he has suggested and take the necessary steps to avoid a violent angry outburst. I used to have a really bad temper myself, and it scared me, but not to the point of ever hitting my ex wife. Having a bad temper is really hard to break out of, but you can avoid violence and train yourself to curb that temper, it's not an easy task, but it can be done as I had too.

The most important thing is that you must want to do it. Now I don't have a bad temper and haven't for years. With today's counselling and strategies open to anger management, there are no reasons why people with inclinations to commit family violence can't break that circle. Serious man

What do you think?

That's a huge problem with a lot of these strategies, the media makes a huge deal of of them and then they are forgotten about until someone finds a reason to criticize it.

As you all know, I love animals, from the outright dangerous to the cutest. Lol

Homeless people in Melbourne are turning to pets for comfort and love. In one particular case in this story, a stray cat saved the life of a young 20 year old girl, and she saved the cats life. There are however, a few objecting to it for various reasons, so have a read and see what you think about this story and perhaps let us know your thoughts?

The concert I attended last night was a Rotary fund raiser for "Violence free Families' it is a great initiative and as Colleen Hewitt said, if Rotary can get rid of Polio, they can get rid of family violence, let's hope it is so Fingers crossed Other victims like her, and myself, would give all their assistance in this worthwhile endeavour.

This photo is really painful, the leaders of today aren't tuned in to the real problems of the world. It's a priority to defend ones own country, but I don't see any so called super powers being challenged, but I see a little fellow who probably died through starvation. It just doesn't make sense. Sad
