Perhaps some people are starting to realise the side effects of coal seam gas mining, I don't know much about this polly at all, but at least someone is fighting it. The area that is mined and the surrounding areas are left devastated with this practise, but everyone turns a blind eye to it for money.

There will come a time that the benefits of financial gain will be heavily outweighed by the consequences, mark my words. Serious man

We only have one planet, and the mighty dollar should not be allowed to take away prime farming land that has been farmed by generations of family farmers. Not as if Aussies get the cheap gas anyway, they sell it to China for less than we pay for it. Unbelievable

Yes, even our gas we sell in the north west goes to a foreign country, far cheaper than we pay for it.

We have mentioned "fracking" before, the relatively so called new method of extracting natural gas. This method is used all around the world. The facts and evidence of the dangers involved with it have been ignored by authorities. Not only do the chemicals used destroy the surrounding environment, it also bring forth other dangers as in this video. Huge sink holes swallowing up everything in the path of them, leaving nothing but devastation behind, as depicted in the video. The second video sink hole is a prerequisite to the first one. The authorities know the dangers, but still to this day, they turn a blind eye to it. Our farmers here in Australia are fighting to protect what we/they have against "fracking" or Coal seam gas mining.

This should be banned full stop in my opinion, God knows what else will evolve from this practise? They cannot just keep taking materials out of the earth and expect no consequences.

Agree Bullant - I often wonder whether these sorts of practices are actually causing earthquakes. They sure seem to be happening more frequently.

Still they continue to turn a blind eye to the truth. What will it take before they realise what is happening?  Stamp Feet

If they spent half of their energy spent arguing in court about fracking, and were researching solar or nuclear energy it would be better for the world and everyone in it. Grrrrr these people make me mad Angry

Agree PK, nuclear fusion, is the way to go, it's safe and it's clean with no harmful side effects, as opposed to fission, which is used today.
