The last remaining member of the Dam Busters has passed away at age age of 96 after suffering heart problems. These pilots and aviators were amongst the most courageous of WWII, and the technology that they had to use was very basic, relying on their individual talents and experience to successfully complete their missions.

RIP. Les Munro.

RIP to another of our wonderful saviours. I loved that movie when I was young, they were so inventive to think of that bouncing bomb.

It is 100 yrs since the battle of Lone Pine, and their story still lives on, ordinary men called upon to do extraordinary things for us. Thanks to them and all the other servicemen and women.

I have been a little sparse in mentioning 100 years since Gallipoli, so I thought that I would share this with you all out of respect to all those service men and woman who fought to protect our great land on far distant shores to prevent war coming here to us. Eric Bogle, and The Band Played Waltzing Matilda.

Thanks Rb, I bought a calendar from the RSL which has graphic photos of Gallipoli, I notice there is one for next year for the Western Front 100th anniversary, so I must get one, I saw it at the Post Office.
