One of my most favourite shows when I was a kid. I used to watch it , then the next day we would go out and pretend that we were the characters and play out the episode. Laughing

Oh Clint Eastwood was such a dish, and still he could put his cowboy boots under my bed any time. Sigh

Eric Fleming, the actor who played the part of Gil Favor was actually drowned while they were shooting a river crossing.

That's right I remember that RB.

Remember good old Hoss from Bonanza - he died at a young age as well.

One of my all time favourites as a kid was the Real Mc.Coys with Walter Brennan, mainly I think as I never knew a Grandfather and at the time he would have been my pick if I could have chosen one. I found all the episodes on the net, so I made a short trailer out of one for those who may not know of the show. Of course it is in black and white.

From Wikipeadia:

The Real McCoys is an American situation comedy co-produced by Danny Thomas's Marterto Productions in association with Walter Brennan and Irving Pincus's Westgate Company. The series aired for six seasons altogether, the first five on the ABC-TV network from 1957 through 1962 and in its final year, 1962 to 1963, on CBS.

Set in the San Fernando Valley of California, the series was filmed in Hollywood at Desilu studios.

I don't know if they were better, but they were certainly less complicated.

There was a certain "nicety" for want of a better word in the old TV series.
