I am currently engrossed in the second of a series of four books about 4 convict women who are transported to Australia in the 1820's based on factual accounts and diary entries from archives.

That would be a great read PK, especially with the factual diary entries.

Its about a black 13 or 12 year old who was enslaved but later on the government declares they are 'free' but they still must work for their 'masters' and 'mistresses' and the black girls name is Patsy. Later on in the story her freinds leave the freinds' names are: Ruth, Luke, Miriam and Cook/Susan. She goes to the Arbor an outside church where they pray. And thats all i've read so far but im at page 141 and thats all I have read so far.

Now into the third in the series, a few villains wiped out, but a few new nasty types have appeared, and a new subplot as well. Am using my "sick" time well with reading.

Currently reading "Tracks" by Robyn Davidson, it's highly entertaining about a woman who "found" herself by throwing caution to the wind and with the help of some camels she trained, explored the central desert of Australia. She explains in detail, all the intriguing people who helped her achieve this, the Aboriginal people who became her mentors and friends, and the impact that this has had on her life.
