Are you superstitious?

Post by ice cream on Sat Dec 05, 2015 7:38 pm

How superstitious are you? Do you believe them? Why not tell us some.

I had an itchy foot today, apparently it means I am going on a successful trip (right foot), if it is the left foot however, it is the opposite Neutral
I wish I had the itchy right hand (tattslotto night) money coming in. rofl

Sometimes I am, mainly about certain dreams. I had a dream years ago that my eldest daughter was hit by a car and killed, and I was petrified to the point of almost being paranoid about it.

A few days before Christmas that same year, my eldest son who had run off to Adelaide, and we didn't know where he was or had gone, became involved with so called mates over there. He became intoxicated by alcohol and Marijuana, then they started hitch hiking back to where they were staying.

They said that he was sick of walking, so he stepped out onto the highway to thumb a ride, and was hit by a fully loaded milk tanker and killed. There is a very fine line between superstition and premonitions, and you cannot define that line, that's when I become superstitious.

Totally agree Rb, I am quite superstitious (what a silly word that looks!!) about a lot of thing. I read my Horoscope on the weekends, and so often they are indicitive of stuff that is going on in my life (but often they do no mean a thing). But I have had many examples of the year of premonitions, and deja vu, if that is similar.

Chucked salt over your shoulder if you spilt it ... many others.

My big brother when aged about 16 (who lived in the bungalow at the back of our house) went to see the Alfred Hitchcock movie "Psycho" one cold and frosty Melbourne night. Being well past his curfew, he sneaked into the back yard quietly and was making his way to the bungalow door when he ran into something large, and exceedingly cold, he gave a yell of terror and hit the toe, running up to the house screaming for mum and dad. How was he to know mum had hung the sheets on the line that afternoon and it had rained so she left them there, they had frozen stiff in the night air ... I for one (being the little sister) have never let him forget that moment of bravery - this same man served 28 years in the Australian Army - oh dear, brave defender of the country?

Some people are suspicious of burning ears, they say that if the left ear feels hot someone is talking about you in spite, and when the right ear is burning it's people saying good things about you. Idea

( or is it the other way round? not sure now Dunno )

That's the idea anyway.

Would be happy with warm ears at the moment, we are undergoing a super cold snap, getting down to almost zero some nights, I woke the other morning to see all the house roofs covered in about 10mm of frost - brrrrr made my coffee, turned on the heater, and jumped back into bed for a while (lucky I did not have to be anywhere that day) Lol
